WebHostingBuzz Review

WebHostingBuzz

WebHostingBuzz ReviewWebHostingBuzz started out as a plain reseller account back in 2002 with its founder and current president Safvan Malik at the helm. Operated on facilities of more than a hundred servers, WebHostingBuzz is now known as one of the leading multi-national web hosting companies; providing services to nearly 30,000 customers and hosts over 200,000 websites spread out in almost all countries of the globe. WebHostingBuzz is a fast-growing web hosting company that prides itself on being totally privately owned and free of debt encumbrances. It caters to the web hosting needs of small to medium sized businesses as well as the demands of large-scale corporations.
The company recognizes the fact that no web host could ever be perfect; but they can assure customers with unshakeable confidence that their web hosting service is the closest thing to perfection that one can ever ask for. The web hosting packages that WebHostingBuzz offers come in all shapes and sizes; with guaranteed uptime that the company has truly lived up to, over a long a period of time. The price freeze policy has certainly been a great advantage to customers; you consistently pay the initial price of your web hosting account/plan without any increase at all – for life.

WebHostingBuzz Features

As earlier mentioned, WebHostingBuzz caters to diverse needs and demands of every type of clientele – from the simplest and most basic to the most advanced and complex. All WebHostingBuzz plans are reasonably priced with payment terms purposely hewn to suit each customer’s needs and budget. The company is known to have some of the lowest rates in the industry for web hosting packages, whether new connections or upgrades. Rest assured, however, that you get your money’s worth when you sign up for any WebHostingBuzz plan and don’t get short-changed with the features you get despite the low rates; all packages – be it shared, reseller or VPS – are rich in features and applications that are excellent tools for your business and can enhance your website and file manageability.
Plans for websites with basic requirements include the Hosting Basic, Hosting Silver and Hosting Gold packages. The Hosting Basic is the cheapest plan priced at $4.95; it’s a fully functional package, which is most ideal for small websites. This package comes along with 400 GB of disk space and 10000 GB bandwidth. The Hosting Silver is the most popular WebHostingBuzz plan and perfect for blogs, CMS and photo galleries, with 750 GB of disk space and 15000 GB bandwidth for only $6.95 a month. The Hosting Gold plan is the company’s high-end hosting plan with unlimited bandwidth and disk space, fairly priced at $9.95 per month. Both The Hosting Silver and Hosting Gold offer unlimited add-on domains; this gives you the capability to host multiple domains and websites under a single account.
Here’s good news for the more advanced users: WebHostingBuzz also offers an array of plans for Reseller web hosting and Managed Dedicated servers/hosting, which allow you free rein to customize your website according to the unique requirements and demands of your business. Scripts are adequately supported and control panel functions and features that are key aspects to customization are readily available. Reseller hosting enables you to host multiple websites with a unique log-in feature for each.
All WebHostingBuzz plans run on Linux OS and are powered by cPanel, which includes all control panel features such as My SQL database, complete pack of email features, CGI, PHP 4/5, shell access (SSH) support, Fantastico, and many other fantastic features that are ideal for installing and running blogs and forums, among other things . You can also enable/disable and publish frontpage extension application for your website or any particular domain directly from the WebHostingBuzz cPanel. In addition, the WebHostingBuzz cPanel has the unique and distinct feature of allowing you to choose from 23 different languages, which is quite uncommon in the web hosting market.
Can you run an online store with WebHostingBuzz? Absolutely, yes! Every WebHostingBuzz plan is Ecommerce compliant; in fact, the company currently supports 99% of the shopping carts on the market. Each plan is equipped with one-click installers for Magento and/or Zen shopping cart software that you can directly access from the control panel.

WebHostingBuzz Uptime and Reliability

The 99.99% uptime guarantee has always been overplayed and overstated by almost all web hosting providers. WebHostingBuzz does not only use this guarantee to lure customers into signing up. The company has totally proven its reliability over the years through its top-of-the-line infrastructure, technology and human resources.
The WebHostingBuzz Infrastructure and Technology that Powers Your Website Any trustworthy web hosting company that aims to continuously deliver quality performance and dependable hosting to the customers has the choice of data centers as primary consideration and WebHostingBuzz has your business success in mind when they chose three geographically varied locations to house their facilities and infrastructure. After meticulously studying the rigorous requirements, each facility was chosen for its merits on meeting the high standards that WebHostingBuzz requires and maintains.
While many web hosting providers utilize data centers in hurricane-prone or earthquake prone areas, WebHostingBuzz facilities are so carefully chosen that no facilities are located in natural disaster prone areas. The company’s main point of presence (POP) sits on a 40,000-sq ft facility in Atlanta, Georgia; while two other data centers are found in Clifton, New Jersey (25,000 sq ft, raised floor facility) and Dallas, Texas (15,000 sq ft). Each of these facilities has fully redundant infrastructure, reliable power supply, optimum internet connectivity, has a 100% Cisco Tier 3/n + 1 redundancy specification and boasts of Supermicro Enterprise Intel Xeon servers. Data centers are fast becoming popular targets for criminals and thieves because of their priceless contents; thus, WebHostingBuzz makes sure that all facilities are unmarked, discreet and remain secure with state-of-the-art security system and armed guards in place.
WebHostingBuzz is honest enough to admit that you may sometimes experience site loading failures at times, but this is a very rare occurrence and often goes away even without any intervention from the technical team. Generally, sudden and major spikes in traffic are handled quite well and if you experience problems in this aspect like reduction in speed, for instance, the WebHostingBuzz engineers can quickly rectify it by moving you to another server or they can easily upgrade you to a more advanced system/plan, which guarantees smoother operation. Overall, WebHostingBuzz has fulfilled the 99.99% uptime guarantee with less than 5 minutes of downtime per month.

WebHostingBuzz Customer Support

The company’s customer and technical support consists of employed staff from 3 continents and what you get is a friendly, hard-working team who takes your online business success to heart seriously. These people don’t stop short at sacrificing a lot; they work untiringly and diligently to give you the best services and achieve maximum levels of customer satisfaction. WebHostingBuzz has gained excellent reputation for responding to issues and complaints in short spans of time; and more importantly, in providing solutions to your problems almost immediately when they crop up. Simple problems can take as short as five minutes for the Live Support team to tackle and correct any mishaps. True to their words, technical support is indeed genuinely accessible 24/7/365 through helpdesk, live chat and telephone.
Now, if all these features don’t quite live up to the WebHostingBuzz promise of excellent quality service and you remain unconvinced, unhappy and dissatisfied with the hosting services provided, no sweat – you can always opt for the 30-day Money Back Guarantee and get a full refund of the amount you paid.

The Bottom Line

The features that WebHostingBuzz offers make the company one of the most viable web hosting providers in the industry. Compared to other web hosting companies, the WebHostingBuzz prices, reliability and customer support attract more business and website owners with diverse needs and demands, as the company undoubtedly delivers real value for your money. If you want to be counted among the successful online business websites, you simply have to sign up with WebHostingBuzz – one of the best and most respected web hosting providers you can rely on. Along with them I recommend you read my Omnis Network and Hostgator review if you are looking for a good web hosting service.

Cirtex Hosting

Cirtex Hosting was founded in 2003. To date this company is offering web hosting services to users around the world for a fraction of the cost. Cirtex Hosting provides Shared Hosting and Reseller Hosting solutions for both individuals and businesses (much likeHostgator). This hosting company claims that they have received countless awards from this industry. Cirtex chooses their employees from the most talented computer and IT specialist in the industry. This company is currently hosting over 20,000 websites. All server data runs on RAID redundancy protection and also backed up on a weekly basis. In this Cirtex Hosting review I am going to show you why I don't recommend you do business with them.

Cirtex Features

Cirtex Hosting offers 10GB of storage space with unlimited monthly bandwidth. Their price starts at $2.99 to $12.99 a month. They offer free online site builder. They say that setup is a breeze with support available to both transfer and activate your account (in truth, not all the time). They have 24/7 live chat and email support. They have the slowest Fpmeg Servers ever that if you complain about it to them they would just reason out that since you are on a shared hosting subscription some other users might just be hogging the resources that’s why it is slow.
They offer Money Back Guarantee but this is worthless since after 30 days of you signing up with them, Cirtex Hosting transfers your account to different over sold out servers. If you try to check your domain tools you will see that your website is sharing its resources with over 600 websites. To add more aggravation most of these websites uses video advertisements for income websites. If you ever attempt to send bulk mail to your website members your messages will be either be rejected or categorize as Spam. The reason for this according to Cirtex is because you are all sharing the same Ip address.

Uptime and Reliability

Uptime is a joke since their site has crashed down countless of times. For people whose work is lost because of the site crash it is painful to put you website back on manually. Cirtex will say that all you have to do is to submit a ticket adding more insult to injury as if that it would resolve anything at all (unlike InMotion). As all web site owners know their website is their source of income and if this is down most of the time without any explanations whatsoever; every hour that the website is down is like an eternity of waiting.
As of record time their actual uptime is less than 90% in a month. Cirtex seems randomly answering their customer complaint trouble tickets since they would seemingly give lame excuses. They can only offer emails support since there will be no one to answer your phone calls. Cirtex has poor reliability because of slow support response. Their encrypted mail server connections works poorly.

The Bottom Line

Unless you’re doing something simple you would definitely avoid Cirtex like a plague. Save yourself the trouble before signing up with this company if you value your online business. The true measure of a good web hosting provider is when it lives up to its good reputation continually improving on their service and finding ways to improve more on what they presently have. Only time will tell if Cirtex learns from the negative feedbacks of their clients who have migrated to other more stable web hosting providers. If you are looking for a better option I would recommend you read my BlueHost or Fatcow review.

Uptime and Web Hosting

A legit web hosting service cannot promise that they will guarantee a 100% up time. If you do run across a web service that does promise this, they are being deceitful; I would suggest that you take your business elsewhere. However, most companies will claim to have a 99.5% up time, which is more realistic. Also, you have to pay close attention to some hosting services, because some will actually lock you into a contract without you knowing it.
Let's face it nearly every business has a website in order to reach out to more and more people. If you don't have a website you are missing out on TONS of business. The Internet is an information super highway. You need to make sure that your site is in good hands. Hosting is just the spot where your site will reside on. It is vital that you are confident and content with your decision.
The most important component to finding the best web hosting service is doing a little research on the company. Do NOT make a decision on a hosting company based on their sales page. I have done ALL the research for you, and rate all our web services on an A to F scoring system.

  • The pricing of the web site hosting plan (monthly and setup fee)

How To Start A Website – The Easy Guide

For someone that is not a computer guru, or even that familiar with computers, it can be quite intimidating to start a websitefrom scratch.  There are a handful of questions you probably have going through your head right now, and I will attempt to tackle as many questions that will help answer the question “How To Start A Website“, in this blog post.  However, if you are interested in how to start a blog I suggest you read my post geared on starting a blog :)
How To Start A Website

Domain Names

The first thing you will need is a domain name.  This is the www. extension of your website.  For instance, http://www.the-best-web-hosting-service.com is the domain of this website.  It can be very difficult finding a good domain that isn’t already taken, and you will more than likely need to go for a .com domain name.  This is just one step for starting a websitethough.  (see what not to do when picking a domain name)
Also, just because you buy a domain at GoDaddy doesn’t mean you have to host your domain there.  You can switch your DNS to any server you want to use.  In fact, I wouldn’t use GoDaddy for web hosting; just for domains.  I do buy my domains from GoDaddy, but host with Hostgator; all you have to do is switch your DNS (or cut and paste your name servers in the control panel).  Please see switching your DNS from GoDaddy to Hostgator.

Software: For Your Website

In order to create a website you are going to need a program to design your website, however they are quite expensive, nearly $400 for Dreamweaver and $200 for Microsolf’s version of Dreamweaver, which is called Expression.  Of course these will take some training, because these programs are not for the novice user.  However, there are many hosting services such as, BlueHostGreenGeeks, and Hostgatorwhich all offer sitebuilders to help you in case you are not a web developer.
I am a web developer and unless you have deep pockets you are probably not going to want to pay several thousands of dollars for a site design, plus maintenance.  In fact, you can start a website for much cheaper than that!  Typically novice webmasters will install WordPress on their site and install various plugins and widgets to help customize their page the way they want it.  To do this you need to use Fantasitico to install WordPress.

Testing Your Website

Believe it or not starting a website requires a lot of testing.  This is a commonly overlooked factor that people fail to do until their users start contacting them because of accessibility issues.  In order to have a successful website you need to make sure that people can use your site easily.  This is the main ingredient that allows your site to be a successful one (along with excellent content).
You need to make sure your site looks alright in all the major browsersFirefoxInternet ExplorerSafariChrome, and Opera.  Additionally, I like to be a control freak and see what my site looks like in almost every browser possible at http:///www.browsershots.org.  When you create a website you don’t want it to look broken on different browsers.
Along with that I always try to make sure my sites are W3C compliant (not just for seo reasons) but to make sure their are no bugs on my website.  It is a good habit to get into.  Along with that I always check my site for malware with this sitehttp://www.unmaskparasites.com (from time to time).  Furthermore, I recently wrote a post on finding 404 errors and broken links, along with using an .htaccess file to make sure my301 redirects are setup properly.

Website Cost

Another thing people commonly want to know is how much is it going to cost to start a website?  This is kind of an intricate question to answer, because it depends on your purpose of the website.  When you start a website you need to ask yourself is it for my business, personal site, eCommerce site, blog, ect.  It can be very cheap if you don’t need to purchase any software or sitebuilders and only have to pay for a yearly domain, and web hosting (either per year or monthly).  If you are interested in a cheap yearly fee; I would highly recommend you read my Fatcow Review.  Also, if you would like to save $30 a year and get a free domain please check out this GreenGeeks review.  Also, personally, I use InMotionhosting for this website because they offer a ton of different plans, and I simply love them!

Web Hosting: For Your Website

So now that you are all excited on starting a website you need to pick a place to host it with.  Without web hosting your site would not be functional.  Web hosting is the server that pay for which all your files are going to live on.  However, there are hundreds if not thousands ofhosting companies out there so it can be impossible to determine, which one is right for you, unless you have a little assistance.
Another question when starting a website that people commonly have is what is the best web hosting service?  Well, again this is a question that has more than one answer.  For instance, the best hosting could be different for a blog vs someone that is starting an eCommerce business.  You can expect to pay anywhere from $2-$400 a month for web hosting.  I actually have a list on this site which shows, what I feel are the best hosting services to meet your needs.  Currently, have these categories:

Tips for Writing a Testimonial about Yourself

A personal testimonial can be a great marketing tool in highlighting the unique value of your blog. However, it is never easy to sing one’s own praises. You don’t want to give the impression of excessive bragging, yet extreme modesty will not serve you well either.  The following provides a step-by-step guide to writing an impressive testimonial that will draw readers to your blog.

7 Steps to writing a great personal testimonial

1. Pose questions to yourself of both a professional and personal nature. Questions will help you to clarify the most important points you wish to cover in your testimonial statement. Examples of questions include:
    • What is special or unique about your blog that differentiates it from others within your niche?
    • What value will your blog provide readers that competitor blogs do not?
    • What are some major successes of your firm and what have been your most significant challenges?
    • When did you become interested in the area you are writing about? What motivated this interest?
    • How did you learn about this field (coursework trade journals, seminars, conversations with colleagues, etc.)?
    • What are the core values of your business (e.g. integrity, customer service, quality)?
    • What experiences in your life (family, academic, professional) have shaped your goals and how do these play into your blog?
    • Have you had to overcome any significant barriers (e.g. economic or health) in your life that formed who you are today?
There is nothing wrong with blending the business with the personal in your testimonial statement. The personal side will humanize your testimonial and permit your readers a “behind-the-scenes” glimpse of some significant factors involved in building your business.
2.   Once you have answered each of the above questions, organize your answers into an outline. The answers to each question above can serve as separate paragraphs of your testimonial statement.  Make sure that you plan the testimonial so that you adequately to cover the answer to each question.
3.   Using your outline as a guide, make sure to create an introduction, body and conclusion. In essence, let readers know what the testimonial will be about (introduction). Provide details in the body of the testimonial using the answers you developed to each of the questions, and wrap it all together in the conclusion.
4.   Once you have prepared an outline and main talking points, free write for about an hour or so. Write down everything that comes to mind and do not stop to edit or criticize what you are writing. The goal is to record every relevant piece of information with no regard to organization, writing style, spelling, grammar, arrangement, or logical flow (all this will come later during the editing process).  Let go of the internal critic and have some fun since your passion will show through in the testimonial statement and draw readers like a magnet!
5.  As per Diana Huff, principal of DH Communications, a Boston-based marketing consultancy and copywriting service, to establish yourself as the expert within your field, share any special challenges that you successfully navigated and include quantifiable metrics that back up your claims.
6. Look over what you have written during the free write and make changes as necessary by either adding or deleting content. However, you don’t want the testimonial to be more than a single page in length or it may come off as too much bragging and turn people off. Take the best of your ideas and develop them further with specific examples and details.
7.   Thoroughly proofread and edit your testimonial for spelling, grammatical errors. You might also want to have a second pair of eyes review the statement to better ensure it is error-free. Do not simply rely on spell- check to catch all mistakes since the tool often misses synonymous and grammatical conte

The Best Cheap Web Hosting Services

Cheap web hosting services are readily available. While there are great, inexpensive choices in web hosting providers, it is necessary to carefully look into any provider you are considering. In an effort to make the most money, some web hosting companies cut corners by stuffing too many sites on a server, or sometimes by skimping on technical or customer support. You certainly don't want those things to happen.
So what should you look for in a cheap (or any) web hosting service? Adequate bandwidth and disk space are vitally important. Fortunately, these aren't that expensive to come by anymore. You want your hosting service to understand your particular needs in terms of space and bandwidth. Uptime is very important, and access to 24/7 technical and customer help is absolutely vital. You'll want to know whether an intended host uses cPanel, and whether the servers they use are Linux or Windows based.
After you have your needs spelled out, it is time to go shopping for a web hosting service. The competition is fierce in the area of web hosting, and that is generally to your advantage. Two popular hosting companies are called Fat Cow and Just Host.
FatCow has been around since 1998, and focuses its attention on small businesses. They also offer unlimited disk space and bandwidth. While providing really unlimited disk space and bandwidth is actually impossible, it is possible to come close enough that most websites won't know it isn't infinite. Fat Cow offers shopping carts and website builders for free. It is not necessary to know how to write HTML in order to design your site. Fat Cow has plenty of designs that you can choose from. Eco-minded customers will be pleased to know that FatCow runs all its data centers on wind power.FatCow Web Hosting
Just Host has won numerous customer and technical service awards. They have website builders, shopping cart programs, and numerous other customer perks like free domain name for life. And you can have an infinite number of domains that you can setup using cPanel. JustHost offers 99.9% uptime, which is as good as is realistically possible. They even created their own company called Just Uptime for the sole purpose of monitoring sites' uptime.Just Host Web Hosting
With software for load balancing, super fast servers, and multiple servers, you can be assured that if one server has a problem, you site will go immediately live on another server.
Cheap web hosting is a fact of life nowadays, and website and e-commerce owners are in the enviable position of being able to choose among many competitively priced options.

Web Hosting

If you are new to the web site business and are still trying to understand what web hosting really is, our free web hosting guides should help answer many of your unanswered questions. Take a look!

What Is Web Hosting?

Web hosting is an internet storage service that gives individuals, organizations, and businesses the ability to publish web sites on the web. Hosting services provide (normally for a small fee) space on their web servers that clients can "rent" and store personal web sites. Any web site on the World Wide Web is stored on a web server somewhere in the world. Finding a web host is a requirement for anyone who is looking to create a presence on the internet.

What Are The Different Types Of Hosting

The are many factors to consider during your search for a reliable but affordable web hosting provider. To determine the most appropriate webhosting solution you must ask yourself a few questions: "Who is the web site for?", "How much traffic do I expect my site to have?", "How much money do I want to spend?"
There are many different types of hosting available for purchase. The most popular web hosting solution is shared web hosting. Shared hosting is often utilized by individuals looking to host personal, business, ecommerce, real estate, or church web sites. The most obvious benefit of the shared option is the fact that it is such an affordable option. AlreadyHosting.com would predict that 90% of all online web sites would work perfectly fine on a shared hosting plan. (Like the ones mentioned above in our top 10 list.)
Virtual Private Servers (VPS hosting ) is another type of web hosting that is often taken used by companies expecting mid to high levels of traffic. VPS servers normally cost 5-7x that of shared hosting; however, it is much more affordable than a dedicated server. Dedicated hosting servers provide the best web site hosting on the web. This web hosting service option is not cheap but will offer you the most dependable and reliable servers on the web, not to mention dedicated servers are extremely flexible for anyone running application based web sites. SingleHop is a great dedicated web hosting provider (if your looking for a dedicated host, you can read our SingleHop review if you would like more information on this host

What To Look For In a Web Host

There are many factors that need to be considered when searching for the best web hosting provider. First, does the host offer an affordable monthly rate? There are many great companies offering web hosting for only $3.95/month and we DO NOT recommend paying any more than that. Secondly, you should look for a reliable web host that offers stable servers and support the following types of sites:java, php, Ajax, ruby, html, and other web design platforms. We consider all of the top 10 best web hosting sites (listed above) to be great hosting solutions for anyone! We would like to encourage you to compare web hosts by taking advantage of our free web hosting reviews and guides for your research.

Free Web Hosting Tips

Article #1

Can you really get FREE web hosting?

Yes, there are hundreds of free hosting web sites, as far as not having to pay any money to have your website hosted. Generally they either cost you in time, web hosting restrictions, or modifying your free web pages by adding popups, banners, or other adverts. When looking for free web hosting (especially on search engines), you should beware that there are also a large number of commercial web hosts that claim to offer free hosting services, but those often have a catch, such as paying an excessive amount for a domain name or other service, and therefore aren't really free. The free free hosting guide below will give you some tips for finding the right free webhosting comapny for you.

How do the free web hosts make money?

The free website hosts often make money in other ways, such as putting banners, popups, or popunders ads on your free webpages. Some free web hosting companies do not put ads on your site, but require you as the webmaster to click on banners in their control panel or signup process, or just display banners in the file manager in hopes you will click them. Some lure visitors with free hosting in hopes you will upgrade and pay for advanced features. A few send you occasional emails with ads, or may even sell your email address. A new method that is becoming popular is requiring a certain number of "quality" forum posting, usually as a means of getting free content for them and thereby being able to display more ads to their website visitors.

Are free web hosts reliable?

Generally no, although there are a few exceptions. If the free host is making money from banner ads or other revenue sources directly from the free hosting service, then they likely will stay in business, provided someone doesn't abuse their web hosting server with spam, hacking, etc., as often happens to new free web hosting companies with liberal signup policies. If the freehost accepts just anyone, especially with an automated instant activation and it offers features such as PHP or CGI, then some users invariably try to find ways to abuse it, which can cause the free server to have a lot of downtime or the free web server to be slow. It is best if you choose a very selective free hoster which only accepts quality sites (assuming you have one).

Uses for free webspace

Free web hosting is not recommended for businesses unless you can get domain hosting from an ad-free host that is very selective. Other reasons for using free hosting websites would be to learn the basics of website hosting, have a personal website with pictures of your family or whatever, a doorway page to another web site of yours, or to try scripts you have developed on different web hosting environments.

How to find the right free web hosting site

The best place to search for free webhosting is on a free webspace directory website (i.e. a web site which specializes in listing only free web hosting providers). There are some which add new free hosts pretty much every week (and if it is updated often, has usually had to delete about as many). There are also many which almost never update their web site, and a huge percent of their links and info are outdated. Unfortunately that includes most of the directories that were the best several years ago. The problem is free hosts change so often, and most fold up in less than a year (often even after only a day or two), that it is hard to keep such a freehosting directory up-to-date. The most recommended free web space directory is Free Web Hosting (http://www.free-webhosts.com/), which has a detailed list of over 200 free web hosting providers with user reviewsratings, and free hosting searchable database. It is updated daily, and the advanced free web hosting search has 42 options, helping you to find the free hosting package with all the features you need, such as CGI, PHP, MySQL, ASP, SSI, Ruby on Rails, FrontPage server extensions, and even free cpanel web hosting.
For a smaller, more selective list of the best free hosts, there are also these free webspace hosting directories:
Best Free Webspace (http://www.100-Best-Free-Webspace.com/)
Free Hosting (http://www.Absolutely-Free-Hosting.com/)
Free Webspace (http://www.free-webspace.org/)
Other (usually less useful) resources include subcategories of freebies sites, search engines and directories, and forums. Your ISP might also supply you with free webhosting.

Hints for finding the best free web hosting service

Generally it is best not to choose a free hosting package with more features than you need, and also check to see if the company somehow receives revenue from the free hosting itself to keep it in business. As already mentioned, it is best to try to get accepted to a more selective free host if possible. Look at other sites hosted there to see what kind of ads are on your site, and the server speed (keep in mind newer hosts will be faster at first). Read the Terms of Service (TOS) and host features to make sure it has enough bandwidth for your site, large webspace and file size limit, and any scripting options you might need. Read free webspace reviews and ratings by other users on free hosting directories. If you don't have your own domain name, you might want to use a free URL forwarding service so you can change your site's host if needed.

Web Hosting Guide

Looking for and buying a reliable web hosting solution is an imperative decision. Whether you are doing online business, providing important information or sharing views online on a common interest, you need a reliable web hosting service that will allow online visitors to browse through your site effortlessly. It is only powerful web hosting that allows your website to be downloaded, browsed and updated in minimal time.
Trying to identify a web host can be a very daunting task especially when there are so many available nowadays and all of them promise one thing or another. Hence, it is crucial that before you jump in, you do your own homework or research for selecting the most appropriate web hosting company for your website.
With the changing trend of technology, web hosts are also changing. Most of them provide various services in addition to their basic ones. Say if you are running an e-commerce website, then of course you need high end security and a medium through which you can manage your web content efficiently. There are many tools that facilitate this, however if your web hosting service is not reliable then you can miss out on serious revenues and prospective clients.
Once you have determined and identified what web hosting services you require for your online business, it is then time to enlist certain web hosting features and options you must consider. You can find below some of the most important aspects of web hosting:
Disk space and bandwidth
You should know how much space your website would need and approximate data it will generate. When we talk about disk space, well, it’s actually the amount of storage assigned to you by the web hosting provider. The bandwidth is the amount of traffic that is allowed to access and leave your website. In case your website has a lot of graphics then you would require higher storage area and greater bandwidth.
Programming tools and the OS
You need to be sure that your website is uploaded through secure servers using the latest Operating System. Most web hosts run on a UNIX based operating system, usually Linux or BSD. For the running of various web applications you would require ASP, .NET, MS SQL, SBS and for these you need a Window based host.
Pricing Aspect
You need to compare pricing before you finalize a web hosting service. Some may provide you better services but at low pricing. It’s not always true that the best hosting services are always the most expensive. Do your research and then finalize.
Support, Security, Guaranteed uptime and Backups
Security and backups are two very important aspects that you need to consider. You should always choose a web hosting service with reliable telephone support. Some also offer 24/7 support through local or toll-free numbers. In case you are running an ecommerce website then security is one aspect that you just cannot discard. Your web hosting service provider should be such that they can monitor things round the clock and ensure no unwanted intruder can hack your site.

The History of Web Hosting

We can say that web hosting stormed the scene of the internet like never before, only since the year 1991. It was definitely not as advanced as we see it today. It of course is related to the internet and the World Wide Web, which again stormed the scene around the same time. The internet and web hosting services are probably the greatest technological inventions till date.
Though the concept of electronic mail as well as the World Wide Web did exist along with the internet, it was only in 1991 that things got revolutionized. With this, a lot of commercial restrictions were removed from this zone. There were a lot of commercial possibilities because of this, and the internet created opportunities for everyone to host web pages.
This revolution was called the revolution of electronic commerce. And once companies started realizing that there was potential for web hosting, they began offering services to all those who wanted to host pages through the internet, for the world to see. While earlier the internet and web pages, and everything related to this field was only restricted to universities and computer experts, potential grew for others too.
This revolution made it easy for the common man to access web site addresses, and web pages. Naturally it evolved, and initially the formats were different. But as time went by, the formats were made easier for the people to use. We can also say that there was a complexity with the way it operates, and because of this, all companies who were thorough with the technical aspects, cashed in on the opportunities.
When web hosting was first introduced in the market, not everyone could use the services. It was very expensive and also very complex in nature. Over time, it became less complicated, but technical companies were still needed for the processes. However it became very cheap over the years, and today there are web hosting services that are offered for free.
While earlier several large computer companies used to rent out the space from their servers, today web hosting has become an entire industry by itself. There are millions of people offering such services, and also millions of people are hosting the web pages. While earlier only large business houses and other organizations could do the needful, today individuals can host web pages.
The complexity of web hosting also changed over the years. It was first a single way to compose the necessary, and today there are several types of web hosting services, depending on the requirements of the person, and the kind of web page it is. As it is has evolved so much, the web hosting business is today worth billions of dollars.
It has become easy for anyone to grasp this concept, to offer such services. The free services are of course powered by advertisements, and there are good paid services as well, at reasonable prices. The web hosting service has come a very long way since 1991, and hence controls the internet.

There are various kinds of web hosting services from which you can choose from. Some companies provide you web hosting services for free, while some charge the user. There are certain drawbacks of using free web hosts. This is because there are certain limitations regarding the services they provide. Moreover, a user is not provided with customer service, and is not provided uptime guarantee. The limitations on bandwidth, advertising and edit sites may hamper the growth plans of a company.
Thus, it is advisable that you pay for the web hosting service. However, a user should take into consideration his needs before selecting a web hosting service provider. Depending on a users data transfer, disk space and other necessities, the service can cost him anything between $10 to $5000 per month according to his usage is extensive. Also, the payment can be done on monthly, annually or semi-annually basis.
In addition to your needs, web hosting reviews must also be taken into account before selecting a web hosting service provider. The reviews or ratings of the service providers are available on the Internet. Various service providers can be compared on the basis of price, traffic and space. One should also take into account the bonus or additional features provided by the web hosting providers. It is advisable that one should read the blogs regarding the web hosting service providers. They help you get a realistic feedback and thereby help you in selecting the best web hosting service provider.
Some of the other points that must be considered while choosing a top web hosting service are,
  1. Bandwidth
  2. Server Space
  3. Control Panel
  4. Support
  5. Script access
The bandwidth capacity should be more than of 500 MB. However, it does not make sense to pay for capacity which you will not use. For people who run small businesses, bandwidth of one gigabyte is enough. The same holds true for server space. For personal use, 50 megabyte capacity is sufficient. Select the web hosting service provider that offers a user 24/7 customer service. This is because, in case of a problem, the customer centers will solve your problem. One can also visit their site and read the FAQ’s, since they add to the knowledge of a person.
The control panel provided by the service providers should be a simple version as will be easy to use. Make sure that the web hosting service providers facilitate you with script access. It may not be required at that moment but, may be useful for future purposes.
Since the best web hosting service adds efficiency and success to the business, due consideration must be given in selecting a service provider.
